When Hollywood’s aspiring filmmakers seek an inclusive, supportive environment to hone their skills, there’s one name that comes to mind: Mini Nation Pictures. Founded by the talented and passionate Michelle Ng, this unique production company is making waves in the industry and proving that there’s no film too difficult for them to produce.
A couple of years ago, Michelle Ng embarked on a journey with a friend to produce a passion project. They put in their own money and invited volunteers to apply. What followed was the formation of an extraordinary group of international students, all eager to learn and create magic on the big screen. Michelle, having recently obtained her green card, empathized with their visa struggles and took them under her wing, fostering their growth as filmmakers.
This diverse and talented group has become Michelle’s mini film family, her “Mini Nation.” United in their love for film, they support each other through the ups and downs of the notoriously cutthroat industry.
Mini Nation Pictures is currently working on a TubiTV original thriller Shark Film in Mexico, following the success of their Time Pirates release on the platform, which starred TikTok-famous band SM6 and featured Richard Grieco, Dee Wallace, and Piper Rockelle.
Their highly anticipated “Attack of the Meth Gator,” set to release this summer, has garnered excitement due to its association with “Cocaine Bear.” The Asylum hired Mini Nation to produce this lower budget mockbuster, filmed entirely in Groveland, Florida. The project would not have been possible without the support of the community, Gray Middle School Band, the Mayor of Groveland, and many more local heroes.
“Dante’s Hotel,” a TubiTV original horror/thriller, is also in post-production, featuring an all-star cast that includes Judd Nelson, AnnaLynne McCord, Emilio Rivera, Ted Raimi, and Moon Bloodgood.
But what truly sets Mini Nation Pictures apart is its founder’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the hardworking crew members who make these films possible. Michelle hopes to shine a light on the unsung heroes, like the Production Coordinators and Assistants who make a difference on every set.
