Launched by retired Lieutenant Colonel Ray Ferguson, Boots in Business is a recently unveiled initiative designed to ease military personnel’s transition into the world of entrepreneurship and real estate investing. Following a career spanning nearly three decades, Ferguson started the endeavor in January 2024 to act as a bridge for ex-service members transitioning from the military.
Boots in Business provides free resources such as blog posts, podcasts and videos to help people get started, with an additional paid feature of courses available on their website. Beyond providing a beginner’s course in real estate investment, Boots in Business has just unveiled an entrepreneurship course scheduled for July. In tandem, they will roll out a monthly subscription to their Community Networking Group, promising weekly webinars, mentorship, interactive discussions and opportunities for connection.
Transitioning out of the military can be a major challenge for many veterans. However, this program aims to lower the stress levels associated by equipping them with the knowledge and the tools needed to successfully navigate this often daunting process. This initiative is warmly received, Anna Barlow, a realtor, heralds it as “empowering,” adding, “Boots in Business offers military personnel a smart strategy to secure their future.”
The course boasts an array of features including video training, behind the scenes glimpses at real estate flips, looks at some of Ferguson’s businesses, and interviews with other successful entrepreneurs and investors.
Despite being in operation just five months, Boots in Business has been positively recognized and appreciated by veterans. Alyssa “Lyss” Johnston, a Debt-Freedom Coach, noted that the course “truly serves those who serve.”
This venture is a personal mission for Ferguson. He hopes to let all serving and ex-military personnel understand that their military skills and benefits can be leveraged to thrive as entrepreneurs. The platform’s offerings aim to provide additional skills and income, with a focus on fostering stability and optimizing military benefits.
Boots in Business caters to a wide demographic including active duty, reservists, National Guard, family members or anyone interested in learning real estate or to start their own business. The company holds live real estate meetings every third Tuesday of the Month in Colonial Heights, Virginia, open to all aspiring and existing community members.
Additionally, the Boots in Business Community will soon have access to advanced real estate investing and entrepreneurship programs. With their growing offering, the enterprise promises a well-rounded experience, rich in resources and opportunities.
