When Jason Williams bought the first nine portable restrooms in 2001, he might not have imagined that his business would grow so big and popular. Today the company also has a fleet of vacuum trucks, and along with his wife and team, they serve customers across Dorchester in Wisconsin.

The desire to have spending money led the young high schooler to start a business with portable restrooms. Though it started small, it caught up quickly, and business boomed. Within five years, the young man was to have another turn in his life, and it was a positive one.

Being Self-Employed In The Vacuum Trucks Business

After graduating high school, a year early, Jaime got a job in the sawmill and also ran the business. His portable restroom operation was not to be Jaime’s last venture. In 2009, his uncle, who owned a septic business, asked him to buy it, and there was no looking back after that. Though Jason loved his job, he wanted to be his own boss, so the Williams Sanitation Services was born.

Many people, including his parents, wife, uncle, and cousins, have helped him, and many work in the operation. His parents helped him obtain the loan from the bank, and his uncle also stayed in the business. His wife also had a business, but she decided to work in the company instead.

Jason’s First Big Break

Being a small operation, the young man didn’t expect much. But in 2008, just four years after, Williams earned a contract for five years to provide portable restrooms for “Country & Rock Fest,” one of the biggest music festivals and camping programs in the country. The event needed at least 550 units of portable washrooms.

Williams was still a young man, and he needed money to purchase the units, but the bank only gave after his parents co-signed the loan. It proved to be a profitable venture, and together with taking over the septic business in 2009, the operation began to flourish.

Another Opportunity

The Williams Sanitation Services got one more chance to bid for the Rockfest in the 2010s. But they let go after considering all the pros and cons. Instead, Williams and his team decided to sell some equipment and add other things to the business.

In the meantime, Williams bought two more businesses and also purchased more vacuum trucks. Since then, the company has marched forward by going digital, and they have also added more trucks and equipment.

About the Vacuum Trucks

The operation uses Imperial Industries-built septic or vacuum trucks. They are among the best in the business and include

  • A 1989 Freightliner with a 4,000-gallon steel tank (National Vacuum Equipment pumps)
  • A 2007 Peterbilt with a 6,000-gallon steel tank (National Vacuum Equipment pumps)
  • A 2019 International HX620s with 6,000- or 6,200-gallon aluminum tanks and NVE 4310 blowers
  • A 2020 International HX620s with 6,000- or 6,200-gallon aluminum tanks and NVE 4310 blowers
  • A 2022 International HX620s with 6,000- or 6,200-gallon aluminum tanks and NVE 4310 blowers

Their portable restroom units include 325 standard and 22 wheelchair-accessible units.

The operation offers its impeccable septic and pumping services to various customers, both commercial and private. Besides, they also provide restroom services during multiple events.

Williams and his team have faced plenty of challenges in the past, but now business is running smoothly thanks to the efforts of the whole team involved.
